This 7th grade project involved collecting magazine pages of various color values. Some small text could be included. Students cut the paper into random shapes and glued them down to create an image of their favorite cartoon character. This project could be adapted to older grades by having students collage their self portrait or even to younger grades in which students collage simple shapes.
